California Cruising {California Coast} | Cream. - 01

After second time around in San Francisco, we hopped back on our bus and headed for a drive down the California Coast.

There are so many gorgeous towns to stop along the way, so if you get time, I’d hit some of these…

Orange County
South of Los Angeles, home to beach and Disneyland.  Yes it’s where The O.C was set, you might even meet Marisa or Ryan?

Santa Barbara
Mediterranean-style town with a palm-lined waterfront.

Santa Cruz
Oceanside boardwalk, surfers.

We stopped off for lunch in Monterey where some visited Cannery Row, a historic waterfront district made famous in the novels of the great American author John Steinbeck.

Shopping, restaurants, the docks and scenic Monterey Bay are all part of the attraction. How gorgeous is it?

What did I do? Need you ask? I went straight to a seafood restaurant. Their lunch special for the day was Salmon Skewers… ahem, YES!California Cruising {California Coast} | Cream. - 03

After lunch we continued down the central California Coast via the scenic Highway 1, passing through Big Sur on our way to San Luis Obispo.

Big Sur is famous for dramatic coastal scenery as the mountains of the Santa Lucia Range rise straight up from the Pacific Ocean.

The wild surf, dramatic cliffs and incredible views make driving along this impressive highway one of the quintessential North American road trips – listen to California band the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ song ‘Road Trippin’ and you’ll get the idea!

San Luis Obispo is a small college town of around 45,000 and thanks to its student population has a relaxed vibe.

It actually claims to be the “happiest place in America”… and I can see why…

Dinner was at Pappy McGregors… a traditional Irish pub with loads of great pub food…California Cruising {California Coast} | Cream. - 07California Cruising {California Coast} | Cream. - 06California Cruising {California Coast} | Cream. - 09California Cruising {California Coast} | Cream. - 08

And after dinner, there was a bit of a karaoke off… some were better than others…

I have the world’s worst singing voice, but I have moves, so I opted for a dance set instead… to none other than “Stop” by the Spice Girls

What a great way to end the night!

The next day we were up early and on our way to LA LA Land – post released 22 January 2014.

The adventure continues:
