After second time around in San Francisco, we hopped back on our bus and headed for a drive down the California Coast.
There are so many gorgeous towns to stop along the way, so if you get time, I’d hit some of these…
Mediterranean-style town with a palm-lined waterfront.
Oceanside boardwalk, surfers.
Shopping, restaurants, the docks and scenic Monterey Bay are all part of the attraction. How gorgeous is it?
Big Sur is famous for dramatic coastal scenery as the mountains of the Santa Lucia Range rise straight up from the Pacific Ocean.
The wild surf, dramatic cliffs and incredible views make driving along this impressive highway one of the quintessential North American road trips – listen to California band the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ song ‘Road Trippin’ and you’ll get the idea!
San Luis Obispo is a small college town of around 45,000 and thanks to its student population has a relaxed vibe.
It actually claims to be the “happiest place in America”… and I can see why…

Dinner was at Pappy McGregors… a traditional Irish pub with loads of great pub food…
And after dinner, there was a bit of a karaoke off… some were better than others…
I have the world’s worst singing voice, but I have moves, so I opted for a dance set instead… to none other than “Stop” by the Spice Girls…
What a great way to end the night!
The next day we were up early and on our way to LA LA Land – post released 22 January 2014.
