Ash’s Top 3 Margaret River Wineries – Windows Estate {WA}

By May 23, 2014 Mid range, On a shoestring, Out & About, Perth, Special occasion

The next winery in my top 3 wineries of the Margaret River region is Windows Estate. I love this place so much that this is where I my fiancée and I originally wanted to get married.

The cellar door is a beautiful country house setting among the vines and situated next to a man made dam. A stunning setting for a wedding.

Even fun for the kids – Connect 4!

We have been here so many times the cellar door manager recognises us – yes I suppose that is a little embarrassing. It also shows how much we love their wine!

Every single wine Windows Estate offer, I would be happy to buy and drink anytime. I do of course have my favourites.

The Windows 2012 Mousseux ($27) is a delicious bubbly made from chenin blanc grapes. This is a sparkling that is bound to impress your friends. Again, I always pick up a couple of bottles of this to have on hand.

Enjoying a red at Windows.

Another sparkling on offer is the 2011 Sparkling Merlot ($24). This sparkling red wine trend in becoming increasingly popular in the warm climate of Perth and this does not disappoint. It is an excellent gift idea for men who like their red, but might want to try something a bit different (especially in the summer heat).

One more special mention is their 2003 Liqueur Muscat ($40) – a rich and tasty after dinner drink. I am not a sweet wine fan at all – but a small glass of this is perfect with cheese or dessert.

    I can’t wait to go to the Margaret River. How long would it take to go around all three wineries?

      I think you could easily do all 3 in a day but Ash will know more than me :)

      Hi Margaret! You could easily do the three wineries in a day – you could even do the three in half a day as they are all really close to each other, but it would depend on whether you wanted to make other stops along the way (make sure you have a designated driver though)!
