Naturally the day we arrived in London it was raining.
And it seemed to carry on for a few days.
So whilst waiting for the mister to get a hair cut in Soho, I got the chance to explore the area on girl-time.
That means wandering into gorgeous little boutique stores, not in any particular rush and taking cover in the change rooms (aka trying on dresses I couldn’t possibly afford).
Boys never understand why girls try on clothes they don’t plan to actually buy do they?
Quite famished, I stumbled across this cute chocolate cafe, Hotel Chocolate. They have stores all over the UK, one in Denmark and one in Boston.
There’s nothing I love more than a store dedicated to chocolate.
The ground level is filled with chocolate goodies of all varieties. Ranging from blocks of chocolate to individual truffles, you could easily spending an hour browsing. Okay maybe not quite an hour, but possibly if you’re chocolate-obsessed like me.
Stairs lead you down to a basement cafe serving all types of chocolatey treats.
The bar is stocked with loads of chocolate inspired treats and of course every hot chocolate flavour under the sun.
Given the gloomy weather I opted for my favourite, chilli hot chocolate. But i’d love to try their salted caramel or white with chocolate with jasmine versions too.
It was very light, creamy and had that delightful chilli punch I love.
You won’t feel guilty indulging as they remind you that their blends have less sugar, more cacao, fewer calories, and more satisfaction.
That’s my kind of chocolate!
I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to wait out the London rain – could you?
Don’t distress if you can’t make it to one of their stores, check out their website for loads of chocolate inspired recipes to bring this little slice of London heaven home with you.
