Fireside Festival Canberra

Fireside Festival is one of my favourite winter activities in Canberra.

It’s not news that Canberra can get rather chilly over the winter and there’s nothing more comforting than tucking into a hearty meal and a good bottle of red by a cosy fire with friends.

Running for the entire month of August, venues around the Canberra region turn the heat up and welcome you to sample their finest food and wine.

There’s loads of events including degustation dinners (featuring the region’s truffles), wine tastings, exhibitions, live music, wine master classes and more.

Over 20 venues are involved so there’s sure to be an event for you.

The year before last I went to a lazy degustation lunch with friends at one of my favourite restaurant Poachers Pantry. It was such a treat to spend the day milling over tasty plates and laughing with friends.

Things do book up pretty quick so i’d get snappy on making reservations. Go on and treat yourself this winter!
