Form the first time I met Sal O’Neill from The Fit Foodie Blog I knew we’d be good friends. We blind insta-met at a cafe in Melbourne (we both happened to be there) and chatted for 3 or so hours non-stop and were basically finishing each others’ sentences by the end of it.
We did the typical “bye, promise to call”, but we actually did. We speak several times a week and she has fast become one of the main people I bounce ideas off both professionally and personally. So when Sal suggested we run a workshop together, it was a no-brainer. She would teach her signature light and bright photography and I would teach my dark and moody.
It was tough to fit these two seperate styles (along with camera, photography and styling basics) into a one-day workshop but we managed to cover all the topics we wanted to cover. We met 14 beautiful new friends and got to know everyone’s unique and interesting back-story. We had guests come from everywhere in Australia and even one from friggen NEW ZEALAND (Heyyyyy Sara!)!!!
There’s nothing more that I love than meeting like minded people, and am so blessed to be able to impart some of the knowledge I have learned over the years with others. Teaching can be incredibly hard, but I loved every minute of it.

~ Workshop highlights ~
Photography basics | We will go through basic camera settings, how to approach lighting, colours, compositions, angles and lenses.
Styling process | Together, we will learn how to create beautifully styled food stories.
Light food photography | We will learn how to create bright and vibrant photos using colourful ingredients and light backdrops.
Dark food photography | We will learn how to create dark and moody photos using vintage props, florals and dark backdrops.
Editing and presets | Editing is key to creating a consistent look and we will go through our process of achieving this in Adobe Lightroom. You will get the opportunity to ask questions while we edit images as a group.
